Vitamin C to strengthen the immune system, and iron to develop the protein hemoglobin to transport oxygen through the bloodstream. In Northern Thai cuisine Cha-om is also eaten raw with Thai salads, such as mango salad. In Central Thailand and Isan it is usually boiled or fried.
